Pet Therapy Returns at Mountain Vista Medical Center, Tempe St. Luke’s & St. Lukes Behavioral Health!

After a long PAWS, our volunteer Therapy Pet dogs, and their handlers, are returning to Mountain Vista Medical Center, Tempe St. Luke’s and St. Luke’s Behavioral health!  This program, like many, was put on hold due to COVID19, but now that our volunteers are fully back, we’re able to bring our Therapy Pet teams back as well.

For many it was RUFF, not seeing our furry, four legged friends making their rounds, but now our teams are spreading the love to our patients, visitors and employees.

According to Husson University Online, CLAWS and effect of animal-assisted therapy has proven benefits based on scientific research.  They found a direct connection between interacting with animals and PAWS-itive health benefits to include mental and physical health as well as skill improvement.

We look forward to growing our program so if anyone has more Therapy Pet team applicants than they need please RE-FUR them to us!
